ABOUT IMMIGRANT PARK
Immigrant Park started out as a garden and quickly grew into a park. The concept is similar to a food forest: greening of the land and food production. Furthermore, the park has a research focus: experimentation to determine which species of trees can grow in Southern California.
The original 16-acre property was purchased in 2013 and expanded to 122 acres in 2018.
While the main focus of the park is growing exotic fruit-bearing trees from around the world, many native, shade, and flowering trees are also grown own in the park for multiple reasons, including the creation of shaded areas and wind barriers that encourage and support the growth of trees not used to the dry and windy Southern California weather.
